Rebecca Mackenzie – Primary Care and Innovation Lead
I am Hawkes Bay born and bred, growing up at the base of Kohinerakau (Mt Erin). I now live in Haumoana near my beloved Tukituki river, with my three daughters, a cat and some chooks.
In between these two I have lived, worked and studied in Auckland, Dunedin, Wellington, London, Sydney …… Tammumu and Porangahau J. I am a psychologist with experience working with individuals, whānau, groups, teams, and organisations. Having worked across different industries and sectors I came to Health and to HBDHB as Change Manager in Mental Health which led to the recently new inpatient unit Ngā Rau Rākau, and the services around it. My most recent position was Patient Support Unit Manager – supporting the non-clinical functioning of the hospital.
Inspired to become a member of the Health HB team, I bring with me to the Primary Care Innovation Team a passion for making sure our tangata whaiora (people seeking wellness) are met and supported in their health journey by people who similarly are supported, engaged and passionate about the work they do with the systems, processes and workplaces that assist them to provide these services in a way that strengthens our community.
