Pouora | Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) are registered and experienced mental health professionals who work with people of all ages, along with their whānau.
They’re there to help with anything that might be affecting your health and wellbeing. HIP sessions are brief, usually 20-30 minutes, and focused on what matters most to you at the moment.
Community Support Workers are based in the community. They help improve your wellbeing.
They can visit you in your home or connect you to wider services in the community. This includes housing, social support, and cultural support.
Sometimes the Health Coach and Community Support Worker roles are combined.
Poutoko | Health Coaches are specially trained and work alongside your medical care team.
They’re there to help you build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to improve all aspects of your health.
That might mean helping you set some personal health goals and being there to support you as you work toward them.
They’ll be by your side on your journey towards better health and wellbeing.
If you want to get free wellbeing support through your local medical centre, you’ll need to be enrolled with them as a patient. View the table down the page to see if they offer this kind of support or give them a call to ask about it.
