Manu Taupua – Supported Enrolment Programme

The Manu Taupua programme is a community initiative programme delivered by Health Hawke’s Bay to support and assist whānau with enrolment who are currently unenrolled in a General Practice in the Hawkes Bay region.

Our criteria for the programme are Māori, Pacific, and Community Service Card holders who reside in the Hawkes Bay region.

· A Health Navigator is assigned to assist the referred individual.

· Referral is reviewed to ensure the individual meets the eligibility criteria.

· The Health Navigators will contact whaiora within 3 working days.

· The Health Navigator helps facilitate and support the enrolment process into a general practice, including collation of the necessary documentation and coordinating with the practice.

· Whaiora can be referred to the practice of Health Coach for continuing support with navigating the health system.

Up to 6 free consultations in general practice within the first 12 months.

Prescriptions co-payment will be funded for 12 months for funded medication, including dental prescription.

Once you are enrolled with a general practice through Manu Taupua, we are unable to support a change in practice.

Funded visits are for the first 12 months of whaiora enrolling in general practice.

If a whaiora is unable to enrol in a timely manner at a general practice, 5 funded Urgent Care consults are available at either Hastings Health Centre or Napier Urgent Care.
